Since 2005, we have had the privilege of learning from these magnificent animals, and we enjoy nothing more than sharing these beautiful Mustangs with others.

Programming at Wild Horse Mountain Ranch includes:

  • Youth camps
  • Public events and educational opportunities
  • Varied adult classes that allow folks to learn from and about Mustangs

Our Mission

Special needs child working with Mustang horse. rRding lesson Wild Horse Mountain Ranch.

We share horses with folks with special needs.  We believe that everyone has special needs as well as special strengths.  Our work focuses on building from an individual's strengths.  Our students come from varied backgrounds, but they each share the desire to be near these animals, and we derive a great deal of joy sharing the ranch with folks who need connection with animals and nature.

We provide experiences for the public to come learn about the horses and our methods of gentling wild mustangs. From youth camps to large public open houses and intimate small adult classes, we love to share these Mustangs and their stories with others.

We adopt and gentle wild horses using Natural Horsemanship Techniques.  Some of our adoptees will find homes with families and many stay on to help in our special needs riding programs.   (Yes, we know how lucky we are!)

About Us

Our programming and work are centered on respect--for the animal and the human.  We use techniques that have come to be called  natural horsemanship and follow some of the great horsemen and women who have focused on working with horses in thoughtful and effective ways.   The ideas that we follow are rooted in the traditions of Bill and Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman.  Along the way we have met many like-minded "students of the horse"  This is a journey that has brought us a great deal.  Browse through our website to see if our ideas resonate with you.
